building a scene using gradients to match the sky from a image whilst learning basic photoshop tools

for this i made 2 layers. one had a blur effect and was placed behind the normal. i then lightened the top layer. selecting it with the object select i was able to quickly mask the person.

DPI means the density of pixles per inch of space
changing the resolution with resampling allows photoshop to add some extra pixels to increase the resolution and clarity
